MAKERS MARKET JAKARTA
Makers Market Jakarta is a 1,000 m² commissioned installation at Grand Indonesia West Mall in 2016. Developed as the physical counterpart of Marketplays’ digital commerce platform, the three-day venue brings customers, crafters, products and workshops together.
The installation introduces visitors to craft processes through displays of raw materials, tools, finishes and completed products across disciplines including leather, wood, metal, pottery, denim, shibori and batik.
The layout uses a one-way circulation with one entrance and one exit so tenants receive a more even flow of visitors. The corridor works simultaneously as circulation, interaction space and gallery, allowing customers and crafters to meet comfortably.
A flexible centre stage accommodates food and beverage, performances and craft classes. Near the exit, an interactive blackboard gives visitors a place to leave drawings or messages, extending the market experience beyond shopping and workshops.
